Things They Say Thursday--July 7

     We had a great and wonderful Fourth of July.  The past few years we have travelled to Minnesota for the holiday, but this year we decided we would stay home.  We had a family Fourth of July on Sunday and on Monday we did a BBQ, swimming, and fireworks with friends.  The kids really had a great time both days {although Noah would have preferred us leaving before the fireworks, he said they hurt his ears}.  What this all has to do with the things they say is that Mikayla was about to light some fireworks off with my brother's fiancee when she says "smoke is bad for your lungs."  My brother's fiancee and I just looked at each other and both responded to her with, "yes, yes it is bad for your lungs."  Not sure if this was from the fire lesson at school or the little talk we had recently had about smoking, but it does leave hope that it the future she won't smoke because it will hurt her lungs.  Oh, and the next morning she woke up and asked if our lungs were okay?  Of course I reassured her that we were fine, it is just not something that we can do all the time.  Sometimes I just love how naive kids are.
