What We Did When I Wasn't Here

1.  Went to a princess birthday party where my son proudly stole the party by grilling the princess.  {I'm pretty sure she was glad the hour was over just so she didn't have to field another question about the prince.}
2.  Noah took an action heroes dance class.  {Finally a class geared just for boys.}
3.  Spent a week fighting of the worst cold I have had in a long time.  It knocked me down.
4.  Saw some of the coolest marbles at something called Marble Crazy.  Had no idea people travelled around showing off their marble making skills.  Really neat to see.
5.  Visited Animal Tales and Trails (at Crown Center) where my kids pretended to explore a jungle, sat in an eagle's nest, and hid in a black bear cave.  All this was followed up by The Lorax movie and ice cream cones.
6.  Mikayla had Spring Break where she spent a week at theatre camp.
7.  Watched the kids explore nature and get really silly out at my aunt's house.
8.  Sat three rows back at Disney on Ice.  A bit chilly, but so worth it.  The kids once again absolutely loved the show.
9.  Spent an afternoon riding bikes at the park where Noah and I were kissed by the sun.  Only to be outdone by the next day where we watched my niece play soccer, I mowed the lawn, and got an even bigger kiss by the sun.  {I would just like to say that, hello!, it is March, couldn't we have at least waited until April to give me my first sunburn?  Yea, lesson learned, need to buy sunscreen in February to be prepared for March.}
10.  Got a head start on my spring cleaning.  {Winter never officially was here, so maybe it wasn't such a head start.}
11.  Watched the Hawks make it into the Final 4.  Rock Chalk!

My list really could go on, but I think it gets really boring from here.  We will have to see how I can keep up in the coming weeks.  Mikayla is starting soccer which only adds to our already busy schedules, but I am really excited for it.

There was an train car at the bus stop for Marble Crazy.

Things They Say Thursday--Mar. 8th

     A few weeks ago I took Noah to a bank with me.  The bank had some pamphlets about their debit and credit cards which just happen to sport our local colleges.  Noah picked one up and told me about a girl at his school who was a K-State fan.  Out of curiosity I asked him which one he liked.  He promptly tore open his coat and empatically pointed to his shirt and said, "Rock Chalk, Jayhawk, Go KU!"  It was all very cute.  The teller admitted that she was a K-State fan, but for the day she would be a KU fan too.  It just happened to be a big rival game day for KU, they were playing Missouri at home for the last {for now} time.  It's kind of sad to see the end of such a rivalry, but hey we went out with a big bang.  KU came back from a 19 point deficit to take the game into overtime, and then went on to win.  With the win they clinched the Big 12 championship for the eighth straight year.  What a feat!

Things They Say Thursday--Mar. 1st

     Sometimes the best things are not said at all, but rather written.  Another assignment that Mikayla brought home from school.  I am loved more than 100 vanilla cakes.  I love how she still draws me with long hair.
